Look for a visible remainder
Players have reported sectors that appear empty but do not complete. A report alone does not establish the cause or a fix.
- Inspect the edge of the sector and areas obscured by structures for visible remaining dust.
- Compare the map and the robot’s displayed activity with what you see on the ground.
- If possible, test another small area and note whether the issue is limited to one sector.
- Record the sector, game version and whether this is a solo or multiplayer save before reporting it.
Do not overwrite your only backup
The 1.0.4 notes describe automatic local backups and repair. They also state that saves written by 1.0.4 cannot be opened in older versions, so avoid rolling back as a first experiment.
Check one boundary at a time
Begin with the section that the map reports as incomplete. Inspect its boundary and any ground obscured by buildings or terrain, then compare what the map and robot information panel show. Record the displayed percentage rather than assuming the last decimal represents a particular amount of dust.
If you can reproduce the issue, note the section, whether a robot or a player cleaned it, and whether other sections show the same behavior. These observations make a report more useful, but they do not prove that the remaining progress is caused by hidden dust.
Separate a display issue from a repeatable cleaning issue
Compare the displayed state after observing a cleaning pass with the robot’s current activity. A mismatch is worth documenting; it does not automatically imply that the save is corrupt or that a reset is required. Community reports describe symptoms, not a confirmed fix for every save.
The coordinate map on this site plots packaged landmark records on a reference projection. It does not show your save’s cleaning progress, reproduce the in-game terrain or identify the uncleaned portion of a section.
Keep a safe recovery path
Before experimenting with an affected world, keep a copy of the save and check the current developer guidance. Patch 1.0.4 describes local backups and automatic repair, while also warning that saves made in that version cannot be opened in older versions. Avoid assuming that a rollback is harmless.
Frequently asked questions
Does a sector stuck at 99% always contain hidden dust?
Not necessarily. Players report incomplete-looking sections, but the report alone does not establish a universal cause. Inspect the boundary and record the version and symptoms.
Can the website map show my uncleaned sectors?
No. It plots packaged landmark coordinates and is not connected to your game save or the in-game progress display.
Static recipe values use analyzed build f87fd7e5, which is not independently mapped to a Steam patch number. Official patch claims cite the developer; community reports are observations, not verified fixes. The guidance has not been tested in-game.
