Moon Sweepers Conveyor Calculator
Estimate ideal flow from the speed and spacing constants recovered from the game.
Choose an average value from 0 to 1 kg for a packager capsule.
What goes into the estimate?
- Belt movement constant
- 1.1 m / s
- Queue spacing constant
- 0.75 m
- Ideal lane flow
- 60 × 1.1 ÷ 0.75 = 88 capsules / min
- Packager maximum capsule
- 1 kg
- Packager host scan interval
- about 0.35 s
At exactly this speed and spacing, an ideal, continuously loaded straight lane could carry around 88 capsules per minute. The packager timer allows about 171.4 emission attempts per minute in isolation; an attempt is not a successfully transported capsule.
Game code uses these constants while stepping and spacing conveyor riders in build f87fd7e5. We have not run an in-game throughput test. Insertion checks, frame timing, hand-offs between belts, junctions, payload sizes and downstream congestion can make a real line slower; do not use the result as a guaranteed belt capacity.
How to interpret the conveyor capacity estimate
This tool models one ideal lane using two constants found in the analyzed game code.
What the capsule weight changes
At 1.1 m/s and exactly 0.75 m between capsules, a continuous ideal stream gives 88 capsules per minute. At 1 kg per capsule that is 88 kg/min; at 0.5 kg per capsule it is 44 kg/min. The capsule count does not change in this simplified model.
This is arithmetic under fixed assumptions, not a recorded result from a running game. Real insertion, frame timing, junctions, hand-offs and the receiving machine can change the observed rate.
Why the Packager has a different number
The analyzed host code checks the Packager at an interval of about 0.35 seconds and can attempt one capsule of up to 1 kg on a check. That works out to roughly 171.4 attempts per minute if the timer were reached exactly. An attempted emission is not necessarily a successful delivery.
The ideal belt figure and the Packager attempt figure describe different stages. Do not add them together or treat either as guaranteed end-to-end throughput. Test a small route first and observe the first place where capsules stop.
Frequently asked questions
Is 88 kg/min the guaranteed belt throughput?
No. It is the calculated material flow for a continuously loaded, ideal single lane with 1 kg capsules at the recovered speed and spacing.
Why is the Packager timer higher than the belt estimate?
One is a timer-based attempt rate; the other is a speed-and-spacing model for a lane. They measure different parts of the process.
Does a lighter capsule change the capsules per minute?
Not in this ideal lane model. The fixed speed and spacing determine capsules per minute; the chosen capsule weight changes the calculated kilograms per minute.
