EQUIPMENT FIELD GUIDE

Packager

Package loose material into capsules for a connected conveyor.

01 / OVERVIEW

How it works

Fill the machine and connect a conveyor at its OUT port.

Each eligible machine can attempt a capsule of up to 1 kg on a host timer.

The buildable Packager and the Auto-Packer upgrade are separate entries; do not assume their effects are interchangeable.

OUT OUTPUT

What the Packager does

The Packager is a buildable structure. In the analyzed game code, it holds up to 100 kg and can attempt to emit a capsule containing up to 1 kg during a host scan. The serialized build definition exposes one conveyor OUT port.

The Packager does not on its own prove that a capsule reaches a base intake or is sold. Treat production, belt movement and the destination as separate stages and observe one capsule through the full route.

Packager versus Auto-Packer

Auto-Packer is an upgrade-tree node whose localized description concerns a full hand-tool container packing a capsule at the player’s feet. The buildable Packager has its own storage and conveyor output. They solve related tasks but are separate entries in the analyzed files.

The planner can calculate the Auto-Packer’s prerequisites; the equipment page and conveyor calculator describe the buildable Packager. Avoid treating the upgrade price or requirements as the building price.

Timer attempts are not conveyor capacity

The host scan interval is approximately 0.35 seconds, giving around 171.4 checks per minute if the timer were reached exactly. A check is an emission attempt; blocked output, timing and the rest of the line can prevent a successful delivery.

A separate ideal single-lane calculation from the belt speed and spacing constants gives about 88 capsules/min under its own uninterrupted-flow assumptions. Neither figure has been measured in a running game, and they are not interchangeable.

A practical first-line test

Place a Packager, supply material and connect a belt to its OUT port. Watch whether a capsule leaves, travels along the first section and reaches the intended destination. Check the destination separately from the Packager.

The developer’s 1.0.4 notes report a fix for a known capsule-packing stall. If a similar symptom occurs, check the current game version and reproduce the problem before assuming the old issue has returned.

FIELD CHECK

If it isn’t working

  • Check material is available and the outfeed is clear.
  • The developer reported a capsule-packing stall fixed in patch 1.0.4. Update and retest before treating an old report as current.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Packager cost?

The analyzed building definition lists a $100 base price. The price and availability should be confirmed in your game version.

How many kilograms per minute does the Packager deliver?

The recovered timer gives an upper bound on attempts, not a measured delivery rate. The actual result depends on successful emission and the rest of the line.

Is the Packager the same as Auto-Packer?

No. The Packager is a buildable machine with storage and an output port. Auto-Packer is an upgrade concerning full hand-tool containers.
