A balanced starting point
The static recipe suggests one pressure chamber can supply two stone presses at their theoretical maximum: two presses need 20 kg sand and 20 kg additional dust per minute. The chamber consumes another 25 kg dust per minute.
That makes 45 kg/min of incoming dust, 46 kW of processing demand and up to 40 kg/min of stone. Three solar trackers have a 48 kW combined peak rating; their real output changes with sunlight.
- Dust → pressure chamber → sand → both presses.
- Supply a separate dust line to each press.
- Leave the stone output unblocked and connect sufficient power.
- Watch each stage in-game before duplicating the layout.
How to scale
A second chamber and four presses double the ideal input and output figures, provided power, material and downstream capacity also double. Actual belt layout, power sharing and running throughput are not yet measured.
The calculator is a material-balance estimate. It prioritizes the chamber and does not simulate placement, night-time batteries or a power shortfall.
Worked example: material balance
For one chamber and two presses, start with 45 kg/min of incoming dust. The chamber receives 25 kg/min and produces the same amount of sand. The two presses use 20 kg/min of that sand plus the 20 kg/min of dust left over, producing 40 kg/min of stone and leaving 5 kg/min of sand.
Using the extracted base values of $7/kg for stone and $3/kg for sand, those processed outputs total $295/min before bonuses, sale delays and costs. The figure is a base material value, not observed cash profit.
What this example costs and consumes
At extracted base build prices, one $500 chamber, two $1,000 presses, one $100 packager and three $300 solar trackers total $3,500. This excludes belts, connections, other buildings and any runtime price changes.
The chamber and two presses need 46 kW when running. Three trackers have a combined 48 kW peak rating, leaving only 2 kW of rated headroom at the calculator’s 100% sunlight assumption. A lower sun factor can produce a power shortfall; the calculator warns but does not model the resulting slowdown.
A smaller line for checking connections
With one chamber and one press at the full recipe rates, the chamber can use 25 kg/min of dust and the press can use another 10 kg/min of dust plus 10 kg/min of sand. At 35 kg/min of incoming dust, the theoretical result is 20 kg/min of stone and 15 kg/min of unused sand. Processing demand is 28 kW.
The chamber can support more than one press by recipe rate, but that does not mean you must build two immediately. First verify that both press inputs arrive and that the stone output remains clear.
Diagnose the bottleneck before adding machines
If the calculator leaves unused sand, compare the number of presses with the sand supply and remaining dust. If it leaves unused dust, there may be insufficient chamber or press capacity under the model’s chamber-first priority. If the power indicator is short, the displayed output still assumes full power and should not be interpreted as your actual production.
Belt and packager figures use different assumptions. The separate conveyor calculator estimates one ideal lane; neither it nor the factory tool models the exact path, splitters, frame timing or blocked destinations.
Frequently asked questions
What is the pressure chamber to stone press ratio?
One full-speed chamber makes up to 25 kg/min of sand. Two full-speed presses need 20 kg/min in total, so the remaining 5 kg/min is surplus under the ideal model.
How much dust does the one-chamber, two-press layout need?
The chamber needs 25 kg/min and the two presses need another 20 kg/min, for 45 kg/min total at their theoretical recipe limits.
Is $295 per minute guaranteed?
No. It is the base value of 40 kg of stone and 5 kg of leftover sand per minute under the stated assumptions. It excludes sales delays, upgrades, blockages and other costs.
